Creating a facies trend map

The first step of the Facies Trend Maps workflow (model > Facies > Facies Trend Maps > Create Map) enables you to create a new facies trend map folder, or activate an existing one to review or modify it.

To create a facies trend map

  1. On the Create Facies Trend Map form, select Create new from the drop-down list.
  2. Type in a name in the adjacent field.
  3. Click Apply to create the facies trend map folder and keep the form open, or click OK to create the map and proceed to the Assign Data step.

At this point in the workflow, you have only created the folders in which the facies trend maps will be stored.

To activate an existing map

You can set an existing map as default, so that it is automatically selected when you open any of the forms within the workflow.

  1. On the Create Facies Trend Map form, select the map of interest from the drop-down list.
  2. Click Apply to activate the map.
  3. Close the form, or click Next to proceed to the Assign Data step.
